Delete pages from a PDF

Typing page numbers works only when you already know the document. A thumbnail view lets you actually look before you delete — which is what “remove the blank scan” requires.

Why the visual route is safer

Page numbers in a viewer rarely match page numbers in the file: a cover sheet, a table of contents and a couple of blank versos shift everything. Deleting page 7 by number often removes the wrong page, and in a scanned contract that is a real problem.

Here each page is rendered as a thumbnail with its physical page number, and removal is reversible until you press save. Nothing on your disk changes.

What gets removed, exactly

Removing a page drops it from the output document — the remaining pages are copied as objects, so text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, and links between surviving pages keep working where the reader supports them.

Annotations on the deleted page go with it. If you only want to hide content rather than remove the page, redaction is a different operation and this tool does not pretend to do it.

Common clean-ups this handles

Deleting the blank back side of every scan, dropping the fax cover sheet, removing a page that was included by mistake, cutting the terms and conditions annex from a proposal. All of them are two clicks here rather than a page-range exercise.

Questions

Can I undo a deletion?

Yes, until you save. Removed pages are greyed out with a restore control — nothing is destroyed while you are still editing.

Does deleting pages reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as objects, not re-rendered, so surviving pages are byte-identical to the originals.

Does it work on a 300-page document?

Yes, though thumbnails take longer to render on the first load. Rendering happens one page at a time, so memory stays bounded.
